North-Wright Airways is a charter and commuter airline located in the Sahtu Region of Canada's Northwest Territories. Based in Norman Wells, we have satellite offices in all eight communities. We service the communities of Yellowknife, Deline, Tulita, Norman Wells, Fort Good Hope, Colville Lake, Aklavik and Inuvik with our scheduled service.
The North-Wright hangar/office complex (80'x124') is located close to the Norman Wells Airport. The Norman Wells Airport records 20,000 flights per year on its 6000 foot runaway, with North-Wright contributing 12,000 to 14,000 of those flights. Our complex was built in 1995.
Located at DOT Lake, the Float Base serves as the departure point for freight and passengers for the resource sector and the launching point for a variety of wilderness adventures including hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking and flightseeing. In the summer season, a Twin Otter and a Pilatus Porter on floats are based here. There is a log cabin, crafted in 1990 by local artisan Rick Muyers, which serves as an air service building.
